Sir Tim Berners-Lee inventing the World Wide Web during his time as a researcher at the CERN laboratory is part of the Internet’s fabled history, but there’s another twist in the tale — it turns out that the Web as we know it actually came to fruition in France, not Switzerland as many had assumed.
