The web is a ocean, and I’m drowning
Verge reader ryanvinnicombe on data overload:
Recently, I opened up Pocket on my iPhone and realized something that kind of troubled me; I had 112 unread items, all added to my Pocket within a week or so. Now, before we get in a pissing contest about who has more, I’m sure some of you do, but that’s exactly my point. The internet is moving at an incredible pace. My Google Reader gets backed up with thousands of posts, 75% of which I have very little interest in reading, and the items I actually save to read later, generally get cast aside to make room for the biggest and best news of the day, hidden away for another day. Suddenly, it’s 2 weeks later, and the post about what Apple will reveal at WWDC is useless, and just taking up space.
